Laptop blank screen when switched on (fixed)

I had encountered this kind of problem with my laptop Compaq. The power was on, CD response when I eject but the screen is blank and nothing at all on the display.
I had tried looking for some solution on the net and found one working.

This are the steps I made:

1. Unplug the power cord
2. Remove the battery
3. Hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds
4. Then reattach the power cord and attempt a boot.

This works for me. If it works just shutdown, put the battery back and you're good to go.

Note: This method can be used in any brand of laptop for as long as you had encountered the same problem as mine.
